Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the product, pricing, and how it works with Trello.

Product

What is this product?
Flowboards is a Trello Power-Up that gives your board a visual flowchart/diagram view. It loads your Trello lists and cards into a visual canvas where you can arrange them as a process map, add shapes and connectors, and save the layout for your board.
Is this a Trello Power-Up?
Yes. It installs directly from the Trello Power-Up directory and adds a board button that opens the visual canvas for that board.
How does it work?
Once installed, click the board button to open a full-screen visual canvas. Your Trello lists and cards load into the canvas, where you can arrange them spatially, add diagram shapes and connectors, and save the layout. The layout persists per board.
Does it modify my Trello cards or lists?
The diagram layout itself (positions, shapes, connectors) is stored separately from Trello. However, when you use the visual interface to move a card between lists, create a new card, or reorder cards, those changes are applied to your actual Trello board — the same as if you'd done it in Trello directly.
Can I create cards from the map?
Yes. You can create new Trello cards directly from the visual interface. The card is added to the Trello list you specify.
What can I add to the visual canvas beyond Trello data?
You can add diagram shapes (like decision diamonds, process blocks, annotations) and connector lines/edges between elements. These visual elements are part of the saved layout and help you map your process in more detail than Trello lists alone.
Is the layout saved?
Yes. Each board has its own persistent saved layout. You save layout changes manually, and when you return to the board's visual canvas, the last saved arrangement loads and merges with the current state of your Trello board.

Collaboration

Can multiple people edit the layout at the same time?
Layout editing uses a single active editor lock (heartbeat mechanism) to prevent conflicts. One person edits the visual layout at a time. Other team members can still view the board's saved layout while editing is locked.
Can my whole team see the visual layout?
Yes. Anyone with access to the Trello board and the Power-Up can open and view the saved visual layout. Editing is managed through the active editor lock.

Pricing & billing

Is pricing per user or per board?
Pricing is per Trello board. A board-level subscription gives everyone on that board access to the visual workflow features.
How long is the free trial?
Just install the Power-Up and open the canvas on a board — your 14-day trial starts automatically. No credit card, no signup form, no billing details needed to try it.
What happens when the trial ends?
You can subscribe to keep full access. If you don't subscribe, visual workflow features are paused for that board. Your Trello board and cards are never affected.
How do I manage my billing?
Billing is handled through Lemon Squeezy. You can access the billing portal to update payment details, view invoices, or cancel your subscription.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel through the billing portal at any time. Your subscription continues through the end of the current billing period.

Trust & legal

Is this affiliated with Trello or Atlassian?
Trello is a trademark of Atlassian. This product is an independent third-party Power-Up and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Atlassian.
Is my data secure?
The Power-Up accesses your Trello board data through Trello's official Power-Up platform and APIs. Visual layout data is stored securely. Billing is handled through Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your Trello credentials.
Do I need to give the Power-Up special permissions?
The Power-Up requests the standard permissions needed to read your board data and interact with cards/lists. These permissions are managed through Trello's Power-Up platform.
