Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Flowboards ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User" or "you") and the company operating Flowboards, a private limited company (OÜ) registered in Estonia ("Flowboards", "we", "us", or "our").
By using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
2. Description of the Service
Flowboards is a Power-Up for Trello that allows users to visualize their Trello boards as interactive flowcharts and dependency maps. The Service is built on top of the Trello platform and is subject to Trello’s own terms of service in addition to these Terms.
Access to the Service requires a valid subscription. A free trial is available as described on flowboards.eu. Use of the Service during any free trial period does not create an entitlement to continued free access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
3. User Obligations
3.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, its infrastructure, or connected systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service in a way that could damage or overload our systems
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise provide access to the Service to third parties without our prior written consent
- Use the Service to transmit or store content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringing on third-party rights
3.2 Account and Access
Access to Flowboards is provided through your Trello account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Trello credentials and for all activity conducted through your account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 Third-Party Platform Compliance
Because Flowboards operates as a Trello Power-Up, you must also comply with Trello’s terms of service and acceptable use policies. Any violation of Trello’s policies that affects your ability to access Trello may also affect your access to Flowboards. We are not responsible for actions taken by Trello against your account.
4. Payment and Billing
4.1 Merchant of Record
All payments for Flowboards subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for all transactions. This means Lemon Squeezy is responsible for:
- Processing and storing payment information (credit card numbers, billing details, etc.)
- Issuing invoices and receipts
- Handling tax calculation, collection, and remittance
- Managing refunds and disputes on our behalf
Flowboards does not receive, process, or store your payment card details or any other financial information. When you make a purchase, you are transacting directly with Lemon Squeezy, and their terms of service and privacy policy govern that transaction.
4.2 Free Trial
Flowboards offers a 14-day free trial that does not require payment details. At the end of the trial period, continued access requires a paid subscription. Use of the Service during the free trial does not create any entitlement to continued free access.
4.3 Subscription Terms
Current pricing and billing cycle details are available on flowboards.eu. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees for your chosen plan. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected).
4.4 Refunds
Refund requests are governed by our Refund Policy, available at flowboards.eu/refund-policy/. We will work in good faith to resolve any billing issues brought to our attention. All refunds are executed through Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record.
4.5 Changes to Pricing
We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any price changes. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Ownership
The Service, including its design, code, visual elements, documentation, and all related materials, is owned by Flowboards and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.
5.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms. This license does not include any right to sublicense, modify, copy, or distribute the Service or any part of it.
5.3 Your Content and Trello Data
Flowboards reads data from your Trello boards in order to render flowcharts and dependency maps. This data remains yours and Trello’s — we do not claim ownership over your Trello board content. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Trello data through Flowboards complies with any obligations you have regarding that content.
5.4 Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose, without any obligation to compensate you or keep it confidential.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure. We make no guarantee regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the Service for any particular purpose.
6.2 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Flowboards and its owners, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill
- Damages resulting from your reliance on the Service or your inability to access it
In any case, our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 50, whichever is greater.
6.3 Exceptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain types of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under EU law.
7. Data and Privacy
7.1 What We Collect
Flowboards is designed with a minimal data footprint. The only data we store is:
- Your Trello user ID
- The associated Flowboards board ID(s) linked to your account
- Labels, tags, and descriptions you add to shapes and arrows within the Flowboards diagram editor
- Visual customizations you apply to diagram elements (colors, styles, and similar formatting)
We do not store the content of your Trello cards or lists — that data remains entirely within Trello. We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, IP addresses, or behavioral tracking data through the Service itself.
7.2 Privacy Policy
For full details on how we collect, store, and handle personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
7.3 Payment Data
As described in Section 4, all payment-related personal data is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy. Flowboards does not receive or store any payment or billing information. Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy governs how they handle that data.
7.4 Trello Data Access
Flowboards accesses your Trello board data solely to provide the Service’s core functionality (flowchart and dependency map rendering). This access is limited to what is necessary to operate the Service. We do not store, sell, or share your Trello board content.
7.5 Applicable Law
As a company registered in Estonia, we are subject to EU data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Even though we collect very little personal data, we are committed to handling what we do collect responsibly and in compliance with applicable data protection requirements. For any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at the address listed in Section 10.
8. Termination
8.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have a paid subscription, you may cancel it through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal using the link provided in your receipt email. If you cannot locate that link, contact us at support@flowboards.eu and we will assist you. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
8.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if:
- You breach any provision of these Terms
- We are required to do so by applicable law
- We decide to discontinue the Service, with reasonable advance notice where possible
In the event of a material breach that you do not remedy within a reasonable period after being notified, we may terminate your access immediately.
8.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will remain in effect.
9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Estonia and applicable European Union law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through direct communication. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
If you are a consumer based in the EU, you may also have the right to refer disputes to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
